• Magione: Castello del Sovrano Militare Ordine di Malta
• San Savino: the picturesque Piazzetta of the lakeside village, a district of Magione
The 21st edition of the Trasimeno Music Festival confirms itself as a major event for classical music lovers, under the artistic direction of pianist Angela Hewitt, featuring a rich program of international artists.
Highlights include renowned composer and conductor Sir John Rutter, the Wanderer Sextet (musicians of Teatro alla Scala), the Orchestra da Camera di Perugia, and soloists such as Enrico Bronzi, Kerson Leong, and Silvia Podrecca. Ensembles and choirs will also perform, including the Cantores Beati Ubaldi and the Corale Fra’ Giovanni da Pian di Carpine.
A key event will be the June 27 concert at the Auditorium San Francesco al Prato in Perugia, where Rutter will conduct and present his work Visions, alongside famous pieces by Grieg, Barber, and Debussy.
Special guest will be writer and television producer James Runcie, known for The Grantchester Mysteries. On June 29 at Teatro del Pavone, he will take part in two events: a “words and music” performance with Hewitt dedicated to Bach, inspired by his novel The Great Passion, and an afternoon interview.
